Residential Landscaping

  • Location St. Catharines, ON
  • Category Landscape Architecture
  • Role Designer

This residential yard transformation bridges the gap between digital visualization and real-world construction. Translating the initial 3D concepts into a feasible build, the completed design—Phase 1 of a multi-part plan—prioritizes clean paver geometry and low-maintenance planting to maximize the usable entertainment footprint.

01. Design Phase

The Challenge & 3D Rendering

The client wanted to replace an overgrown, unusable backyard with a highly structured, modern entertainment space. Before any ground was broken, the entire site was digitally modeled.

These conceptual 3D renders allowed the client to explore material choices, spatial flow, and structural elements (such as a proposed wooden pergola) to make informed decisions prior to committing to a construction budget.

Site Preparation & Build

Transitioning from the 3D model to reality required clearing the existing overgrown yard, tearing down old outbuildings, leveling the grade, and laying the foundational aggregate base for the new hardscaping.

Finished Landscaping

The completed Phase 1 installation features clean, geometric interlocking stone bordered by fresh sod and newly planted garden beds, maximizing the usable footprint of the yard.

Note on Scope: The pergola featured in the initial conceptual renders is a planned Phase 2 addition. It was intentionally omitted from the current build to align with the client's immediate budget allocation, demonstrating practical project phasing.
